Heather Wardle combines decades of experience of fundraising, publishing and journalism together with a passion to help change the world.
Heather is committed to innovation and the best practices of fundraising and has her professional qualification as a Certified Fund Raising Executive. She works as an independent fundraising and communications consultant helping a number of core clients meet their missions.
Heather served on the Board of Directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals in Vancouver, BC for several years. For six years, she was Chair of the Sponsorship and Mentorship Committee of AFP and helped build this important professional program.
Heather was the Development Director for Seva Canada, an international eye care charity, from 2006-2012 and she was also the Provincial Administrator for UNICEF Saskatchewan.
Prior to becoming a professional fundraiser, Heather had over 20 years experience in book publishing, editing and journalism. She has worked for Collins Publishers in the UK and Raincoast Books and New Society Publishers in Canada.
Heather has travelled extensively in the developing world and lived and worked as a full-time journalist in northern India for 15 months, reporting on human rights and the environment.
